Iran Health 2025 Opens: A Golden Opportunity to Showcase Innovation and Boost Medical Equipment Exports

June 8, 2025 – The 26th Iran Health Exhibition, the country’s largest gathering for the health industry, opened at the Iran International Exhibition Center in Tehran. This premier event offers an exceptional platform for knowledge-based companies, manufacturers, researchers, and investors—both domestic and international—to present their latest achievements and foster international collaboration.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Minister of Health, Dr. Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi; Vice President for Scientific, Technological and Knowledge-Based Economy Affairs, Hossein Afshin; and the Head of the Food and Drug Administration, Mehdi Pirsalehi. The exhibition runs daily from June 8 to 11, 2025, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Medical Equipment Industry Development at the Core

The Minister of Health praised the significant progress of Iran’s medical equipment industry, noting that the country has achieved international recognition for its innovations. He emphasized the need to further increase exports of Iranian medical equipment by leveraging advances in science, technology, and innovation. The Ministry of Health has prioritized financial support, with both IRR and foreign currency budgets allocated to encourage domestic production. Collaboration with the Central Bank is also essential to secure the necessary funding.

 

Exporting to Over 60 Countries

The Vice President for Scientific, Technological and Knowledge-Based Economy Affairs highlighted Iran’s success in exporting medical equipment to more than 60 countries—a testament to the quality and credibility of Iranian products. He reiterated the government’s commitment to targeted support and funding for knowledge-based companies to expand technology exports.

 

Addressing Financial Challenges

Mehdi Pirsalehi, Head of the Food and Drug Administration, addressed ongoing liquidity and foreign currency challenges in the medical equipment sector and called for stronger cooperation with financial institutions, especially the Central Bank. To assist industry participants, the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter has set up a dedicated service desk at the exhibition to provide direct guidance and practical solutions.

 

Unveiling 18 Innovative Products

A highlight of this year’s event was the unveiling of 18 innovative products in medical and orthopedic equipment, many developed by knowledge-based SMEs with strong potential in global markets. The chairman of the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter emphasized the importance of investment in R&D and support for knowledge-based elites to drive quality and competitiveness in the sector.

 

Extensive Domestic and International Participation

More than 580 companies from Iran and abroad are exhibiting in 11 halls, demonstrating the dynamism of the country’s medical equipment industry. The exhibition also features 45 specialized meetings and side events, providing a robust platform for knowledge exchange and the introduction of advanced technologies. Special attention is given to the pavilion for returning Iranian professionals, which has attracted significant interest.
