Hope Shines Amid Neglect: Medical Technology Manufacturers Demand Financial Support at Iran Health Exhibition

June 8, 2025 – Despite the presence of knowledge-based medical technology companies with technical achievements and export ambitions at the Iran Health Exhibition, a common concern unites them: lack of financial support and insufficient domestic procurement. During his visit, the acting head of public relations at the Ministry of Health called for urgent government intervention to support these companies both in the domestic market and internationally.

He noted that, while organizational and company participation at the 26th Iran Health Exhibition has improved compared to previous years, the event still falls short of its potential. Manufacturers remain optimistic about expanding production and accessing new markets, yet many face ongoing foreign currency challenges. The hope is that the exhibition will facilitate exports and deliver concrete outcomes for these companies.

He emphasized that not only the Ministry of Health but all government agencies must actively support medical technology SMEs by providing financial backing and prioritizing the purchase of their products. Despite some shortcomings, the quality of locally-produced medical equipment has improved year over year, and further progress depends on sustained government financial and international support.

The 26th Iran Health Exhibition, with broad participation from domestic and foreign companies, is taking place from June 8 to 11, 2025, at the Iran International Exhibition Center in Tehran.
