Only in Iran: High-Precision Surgical Assistance Device for Cancer Diagnosis

June 10, 2025 – Iranian companies Neko Arka Tajhiz Tose’e and another domestic manufacturer are the only regional producers of advanced surgical assistance devices for cancer diagnosis. This cutting-edge technology, with an accuracy rate of over 90%, enables precise intraoperative detection of cancerous tumors, playing a critical role in minimizing surgical damage and speeding up patient recovery. The achievement marks a major milestone in cancer treatment and strengthens Iran’s position in exporting medical technology to regional markets.

The device, developed primarily for nuclear medicine and dermatological laser technologies, works similarly to a metal detector during surgery by scanning tissues adjacent to the primary tumor. It accurately identifies cancerous areas in real time, allowing surgeons to remove only the malignant tissue while preserving healthy structures and significantly reducing the risk of post-surgical complications.

Previously, surgeons had to remove all adjacent tissues to prevent cancer spread, often resulting in loss of organ function. With this device, unnecessary tissue removal is avoided, and the risk of recurrence is minimized. The high precision of the device also supports targeted chemotherapy for potentially malignant cells, further improving patient outcomes.

Iranian manufacturers face delays in the import of specialized raw materials due to late allocation of foreign currency, which hinders timely production and export. However, export programs are underway targeting Turkey, the Gulf region, North Africa, and Central Asia.

This innovative device, especially effective for breast cancer and urology surgeries, exemplifies Iran’s expanding capabilities in medical technology and its growing presence in international healthcare markets.
