Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Advances Cancer Treatment with Indigenized Technology

June 8, 2025 – Pishro Fanavaran Darman Pars, a leading Small & medium-sized knowledge-based company (SME) in advanced therapeutic technologies, has showcased its indigenized electrochemotherapy device at the Iran Health Exhibition. This innovative solution, fully designed and developed by Iranian experts, is now at the forefront of treating solid tumor cancers.
According to the company’s CEO, development of the device began in 2021 at the University of Tehran, and clinical trials started in 2023. The technology is currently in operation at four major medical centers across the country, with over 1,500 successful treatments recorded to date. Iran is now the fifth country worldwide to possess domestic expertise in this technology, which remains inaccessible to many nations due to sanctions or technological barriers.
The device is deployed at prominent hospitals such as Imam Khomeini, Amir Alam, Rasoul Akram, and Shohada Tajrish in Tehran. Uniquely, the company not only manufactures the equipment but also provides direct support with its surgical and treatment teams, enabling physicians to experience the device’s efficacy firsthand.
With all necessary regulatory approvals, including clinical trial authorization, the company plans to expand this technology to over 100 treatment centers nationwide next year, prioritizing public hospitals and underserved regions.
Participation in the Iran Health Exhibition aims to introduce this innovation to a broader audience, establish connections with medical professionals, scientific institutions, and international buyers, and lay the groundwork for export and global market development.
