Showcasing Domestic Medical Equipment Capabilities at Iran Health Exhibition with 80% Industry Growth

On May 28, 2025, insights into Iran’s medical equipment industry highlighted the significance of the Iran Health Exhibition as the country’s premier event for health technology. The exhibition serves as a platform to introduce cutting-edge medical equipment with advanced technology, fostering innovation and enhancing competition among domestic producers.
Abdolhossein Rouholamini, Chairman of the Medical Equipment Committee of the Parliamentary Industry Commission, emphasized that the event provides a vital opportunity for manufacturers, including knowledge-based companies, to showcase high-quality products. He noted the importance of inviting more international medical equipment companies to elevate the event’s global standing and called for integrating advanced technologies and knowledge exchange through webinars with other countries.
Additionally, Rouholamini suggested co-locating related exhibitions—covering medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and health products—to boost synergy among producers. He also reported an impressive 80% growth in Iran’s medical equipment industry over the past 15 years. Currently, 95% of equipment used in treatment centers is domestically produced, though only 15-19% of capital-intensive equipment like MRI and CT scan machines are supplied locally, with the remainder imported.
Progress has been made by knowledge-based companies in producing radiotherapy devices, ultrasound, echocardiography equipment, and ventilators, with exports to several countries.
