Abdolreza Yaghoubzadeh, President of the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter, underscored the negative impact of government-subsidized currency allocations for imports and the constraints of international sanctions, stating that these factors have weakened domestic production, reduced competitiveness in international markets, and diminished the national brand. Despite these challenges, he described the upcoming Iran Health 2025 Exhibition as a valuable opportunity to showcase local capabilities and innovations.<\/p>

Yaghoubzadeh identified the allocation of preferential currency for importing medical equipment as a primary challenge for domestic producers, leading to oversupply, market distortion, and unfair advantages for importers at the expense of local manufacturers. Additional obstacles include unequal competition with state-owned companies, liquidity shortages, overdue receivables, and financial pressures from mandatory contributions to the Social Security Organization.<\/span><\/p>

He noted that while Iran Health is among the country\u2019s most reputable and longstanding health sector events\u2014offering a critical platform for presenting capabilities, exchanging knowledge, and expanding domestic and foreign markets\u2014international sanctions since 2011 have sharply reduced the participation of renowned foreign companies. This has created serious barriers to technology transfer, investment attraction, and international collaboration.<\/p>

Yaghoubzadeh explained that, in the absence of direct interaction with international brands, many Iranian companies are compelled to relocate parts of their production to third countries such as Turkey or the UAE, or to market their products under different brands. This process increases export costs and time, while weakening the national brand.<\/p>
