From the Return of Knowledge-Based Elites to Export Growth: Iran\u2019s Innovation Ecosystem Thrives<\/span><\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

June 8, 2025 \u2013 The Vice Presidency for Scientific, Technological and\nKnowledge-Based Economy Affairs announced a targeted goal of $600 million in\nexports of knowledge-based products for the current year, reflecting robust\ngrowth in Iran\u2019s Innovation Ecosystem. He also revealed that a call for\nproposals will soon be issued for the indigenization of consumables in the\ncardiovascular sector\u2014a move expected to raise the quality of domestic\nproduction and reduce costs.<\/span><\/p>

During Iran Health Exhibition 2025, the Vice President highlighted that\nalthough the number of Small & medium-sized knowledge-based companies\n(SMEs) in the health sector remains stable due to limited exhibition space,\nthere has been remarkable advancement in technology and product quality. He\nemphasized that government support is focused on research and development\n(R&D), with special support for products developed using new technologies.<\/span><\/p>

The Vice President also discussed the positive outcomes of the \u201cConnect\u201d\ninitiative, aimed at linking Iranian students and graduates abroad with the\ndomestic market. Many Knowledge-Based Elites have returned, established\ncompanies, and are now active participants in the exhibition.<\/span><\/p>

Additionally, two new specialized books have been published, outlining\ninvestment priorities in pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and\nconsumables\u2014serving as a roadmap for strategic investment in the health\nindustry.<\/span><\/p>

He announced that a forthcoming call for proposals will focus on the\nindigenization of cardiovascular consumables, aiming to enhance product\nquality, decrease dependency, and rationalize costs\u2014an effective step toward\nnational self-sufficiency and improved public health.<\/span><\/p>

Highlighting export growth, the Vice President reported that\nknowledge-based product exports reached approximately 200million by the end of 2024,\nwith many new items added to Iran\u2019s export portfolio. The target for 2025 is 200\nmillion by the end of 2024, with many new items added to Iran\u2019s export\nportfolio. The target for 2025 is 600 million, a goal deemed achievable if\npolitical and economic conditions remain stable.<\/span><\/p>

He concluded by underlining the importance of Iran Health Exhibition as a\nplatform for market development and export expansion. With representatives from\nover 100 countries and official participation from 20 nations, the visibility\nof Iranian knowledge-based products has increased, paving the way for\ninternational sales and valuable feedback to further improve products.<\/span><\/p>
