June 11, 2025 \u2013 The 26th Iran Health Exhibition, held from June 8 to 11,\n2025, in Tehran, became a competitive arena where domestic manufacturers\nshowcased their advancements alongside cutting-edge global technologies. The\nevent reflected both the ongoing challenges of securing medical supplies and\nforeign currency, and the surge of innovation in locally developed\nsolutions\u2014such as the launch of a national smart support dashboard and AI-based\nradiology systems\u2014signaling a new era of export growth and self-sufficiency.<\/span><\/p>

This year, over 500 domestic and 70 international companies participated,\noffering a unique platform for knowledge exchange, product launches, and\ninternational partnership. Notably, more than 70% of the domestic market\u2019s\nmedical equipment needs are now met by local production, according to industry\nofficials. The unveiling of the smart support dashboard, providing real-time\ndata for manufacturers, has streamlined licensing, quality control, and\nexports, while close cooperation with regulatory bodies has helped reduce\nbureaucratic barriers.<\/span><\/p>

The exhibition also featured the first specialized seminar on artificial\nintelligence in radiology, where AI-powered systems for CT and MRI image\nanalysis\u2014capable of detecting lung lesions with over 95% accuracy in less than\n30 seconds\u2014demonstrated Iran\u2019s rapid progress in medical technology. These\ninnovations, developed with the support of local universities and technology\nassociations, have accelerated the localization of advanced healthcare\nsolutions.<\/span><\/p>

A key theme throughout the event was the integration of biomedical\nengineering departments in hospitals, emphasizing the necessity for qualified\nbiomedical engineers to manage, install, and evaluate medical equipment for\nsafety and efficiency. Dedicated professional training programs are being\ndeveloped in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of\nScience to strengthen this workforce.<\/span><\/p>

One of the most popular showcases was a smart oxygen delivery system for\nhospitals managed by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, now operating 24\/7\nwith real-time monitoring and remote management, a crucial advancement\nhighlighted during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/span><\/p>

Despite these achievements, industry experts pointed to ongoing\nchallenges: securing funding for research and development, the need for\ninternational certifications like CE and FDA, and maintaining financial support\nfor domestic manufacturing. Proposed solutions included expanding the national\nsmart dashboard to cover international certification data, establishing\npreferential R&D credit lines, and forming a dedicated export task force\ninvolving the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter, the Ministry of\nIndustry, and the Trade Promotion Organization.<\/span><\/p>

The exhibition\u2019s export-focused pavilions reported that domestic\nmanufacturers now supply over 90% of specialized hospital needs, with many\nproducts competitive in regional and European markets. More than 150 export\ncontracts were signed during the event, notably with buyers from Iraq,\nAfghanistan, Turkmenistan, and several African countries.<\/span><\/p>

Attendees included hospital managers seeking smart solutions to improve\nservice quality and reduce costs, as well as researchers and students exploring\nnew technologies and research opportunities. The 26th Iran Health Exhibition\nsuccessfully advanced the mission of supporting domestic production, technology\ntransfer, job creation, and export development, highlighting the maturity and\ndynamism of Iran\u2019s healthcare industry.<\/span><\/p>
