Health AI Standards: Launching a New\nEra of Transformation<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

June 10, 2025 \u2013 The \u201cArtificial\nIntelligence in Health\u201d session, held at the iHIT Hall of the Iran Health\nExhibition, gathered leading experts and professionals from the health\ntechnology sector to discuss opportunities and challenges in advancing AI\nwithin healthcare.<\/span><\/p>

During the session, Dr. Mohammad Mahdi\nZahedi, President of the Iran National Artificial Intelligence Association,\nannounced the launch of a collaborative project between the Association and\nShiraz University of Medical Sciences to develop national standards for AI\nproducts and services in health. He invited all stakeholders and specialists to\ncontribute ideas and participate in the initiative.<\/span><\/p>

Dr. Zahedi highlighted the absence of\nclear standards within the Ministry of Health as a major barrier to AI\nadoption, noting that, unlike medical devices, there are no established\nframeworks for AI technologies. This gap has prevented capable Iranian\ncompanies from obtaining necessary licenses, despite their products already\nbeing approved in other regional markets.<\/span><\/p>

The project, which began six months\nago, focuses on establishing standards for data sharing, exchange, and\nprocessing, as well as defining benchmarks for AI health products and services.\nInternational protocols and standards such as the European Union\u2019s GDPR, the US\nHIPAA, and Canadian and Australian regulations have been reviewed and adapted\nto fit Iran\u2019s context.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/p>

Stakeholders in health\u2014including data\nowners, processors, regulators, and AI solution providers\u2014have been identified\nto ensure effective collaboration under the new framework. The proposed\nstandards have been submitted to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of\nIndustry, Mine, and Trade, marking a significant step toward fostering\ninnovation and reliable adoption of AI technologies in Iran\u2019s health sector.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
